I am endorsing Steve Jones for At-Large Calvert County Commissioner. I have known Steve since 1989 when he became a Deputy with the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office. When I was a Maryland State Trooper we handled numerous calls together. I have always known Steve to be a leader who is professional, supportive, approachable, and transparent.

When I was elected as your Sheriff in 2002 Steve held the rank of Sgt. He took advantage of many training opportunities to increase his leadership knowledge in law enforcement. Steve attended the prestigious FBI‘s National Academy, and rose to the rank of Major commanding several different bureaus within the Sheriff’s Office. I believe Steve’s experience within the Sheriff’s Office, his position on the County Planning Commission and his dedication to the community has given him the ability to represent all Calvert County residents.
